Exhibitions you simply mustn’t miss

With a mix of contemporary art and living heritage, this autumn promises to be packed with exhibitions. Don’t miss:

Superbemarché

This exhibition invites visitors to discover the museum’s collection of citrus fruit wrappers, colourful fragments of popular imagery that bridge natural history, global trade and artisanal graphic design. It intertwines everyday life (transport, culture, consumption) with works of art and documents to explore our relationship with this humble yet memory-laden object.

📍 MIAM, Sète | Until 8 March 2026 | Every day except Mondays. Find out more.

The Work of Time

Through around a hundred works – paintings, drawings, videos and photographs – Philippe Cognée explores the relationship between memory, the erasure and transformation of images. His recurring motifs, obscured by encaustic or photographic blur, invite a sensitive reflection on the passing of time and the persistence of forms in our gaze. A major exhibition tracing over forty years of work by one of France’s most renowned contemporary painters.

My View of the Mediterranean

Ariel Elizondo Lizarraga presents sculptural works inspired by the Mediterranean, its cultures, its forms and its landscapes. The exhibition offers a visual and symbolic immersion, playing on textures, spaces and the resonance of nature with the local landscape.

From La Gardiole to the sea: painters’ perspectives

This exhibition brings together artists who paint the varied landscapes of the Thau basin: garrigue, lagoon, vineyards and the sea. It offers a palette of Mediterranean light and contrasts that reflects the unique character of the region, between land and water.

Heritage, Traces and Memories

Robert Lobet presents works combining drawing, engraving, painting and artist’s books. An exhibition that lends itself well to a peaceful, contemplative visit, set amidst the garden and heritage.
