FrontignanSet amongst the sea, vineyards and lakes
Frontignan is a town that surprises and enchants. Renowned for its Muscat vineyards since the Middle Ages, this Languedoc town nestles at the foot of the Gardiole massif and 7 kilometres of fine sandy beaches. Its microclimate has allowed it to develop a Muscat with a unique character.
Surrounded by ancient salt marshes and wild ponds, flamingos and grey herons pass through here throughout the seasons. Here, nature and history coexist with a typically Mediterranean generosity.
For Frontignan has many faces, and each is worth a closer look. The medieval town, with its winding streets and ice house tower, tells a story spanning centuries. The old salt marshes, now a sanctuary of biodiversity, and the paths winding through vineyards and scrubland invite you to explore the countryside. The restaurant terraces are brimming with local flavours: mussels from the Thau lagoon, fish of the day, and Muscat as an aperitif. And the beach is perfect for a bike ride or a walk, with the Mediterranean on one side and the reflections of the ponds on the other.
