Description

The City of Sète invites you from September 26 to October 11, 2026, to discover a unique group exhibition at Quai Suquet— the 135 posters submitted to the competition for the official poster of the 282nd Saint-Louis Festival but not selected by the jury. An event that celebrates the creativity of Sète’s artists and highlights the diversity of the proposals submitted to illustrate Sète’s oldest and most popular festival. A Historic Contest? 136 Artists Compete for One Poster For the first time, the City of Sète opened the creation of the official Saint-Louis poster to everyone—amateurs and professionals alike. 136 artists responded to the call issued by Mayor Hervé Marqués. The jury selected the work of Magali Rétoré—a Sète native who has turned to painting—whose painting depicdepicting the ascent of the Bourse was chosen as the official poster for this anniversary edition marking the 360th anniversary of the first jousting tournament in Sète (1666). 135 posters on display, listed in no particular order In accordance with the mayor’s commitment, all unselected works are displayed in the order in which they were submitted, listed in no particular order, with only the artist’s name indicated. This is a way to pay tribute to each of the artists who contributed to the visual expression of this great popular tradition.
