A Pirate Ship Makes a Stop in Frontignan
The Odin, an impressive 16.70-meter-long old sailing ship that has been completely converted into a pirate ship by the French Spring Breaker association, is docked at the port of Frontignan-la-Peyrade from August 10 to 15. Free tours from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and a grand pirate show at 8:30 p.m.
Tours and demonstrations throughout the day
Boat rides on the Ingril Lagoon aboard the barge La Marion, organized by the recreational fishermen of the “Port des Pauvres”; a gathering of %latin-sail vessels from the Grémements Languedociens, featuring parades and seamanship demonstrations; an introduction to traditional rowing by Muscat Rames; and large wooden games from the Montaigne Media Center—enough to keep young and old entertained all day long.
Jousting, Dinner, and Fireworks
%C0 5:00 p.m., jousting demonstration organized by the Frontignan Jousters’ Society in the north channel. %C0 7:00 p.m., a festive dinner with live music featuring a mussels-and-fries menu. %C0 10:00 p.m., a boat ride to watch the fireworks from the water, followed by the fireworks display at 10:30 p.m.—free and open to all.
