Description
The Marta Jazz Club invites you to join us on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. at the Saint-Clair, 1 Quai Maximin Licciardi, Sète, for an exceptional evening of jazz. Eric Prost—a nationally renowned tenor saxophonist and co-founder of the legendary Crescent Jazz Club in Mâcon—will take the stage with his quartet, accompanied by three exceptional musicians.
Eric Prost—a leading tenor saxophonist
Gold medalist and recipient of the Advanced Studies Award from the Conservatoire National de Région de Dijon, Eric Prost is one of the founders of the Crescent Jazz Club and the Collectif Mu, with whom he won the Talent Jazz Award in Vienne in 1995 and 1996, and then the Jazz Competition at La Défense, as part of a nonet. In 2000, Wynton Marsalis selected him as one of four musicians to form a special quintet for Jazz in Marciac, alongside Olivier Temime, Franck Avitabile, and Sylvain Luc. He was invited again in 2005 by Wynton Marsalis. He has also performed with Christian Vander and Eric Le Lann, as well as in numerous French and international jazz ensembles.
A quartet with soul and jazz influences
For this evening, Eric Prost presents an intimate, groovy quartet—tenor saxophone, guitar, organ, and drums—a lineup reminiscent of the golden age of American jazz-soul, from Jimmy Smith to Wes Montgomery. Sébastien Joulie on guitar, Sébastien Vaivrand on organ, and Stéphane Foucher—Eric Prost’s longtime collaborator since his Crescent days—on drums.
