Description
The world's largest Mediterranean poetry festival
Voix Vives de Méditerranée en Méditerranée is an international poetry festival that brings together poets from around the Mediterraneanand from around the world in the streets of Sète. More than 680 events over nine days—including public readings, performances, meet-and-greets with poets, street entertainment, workshops, exhibitions, poetry open-air cafés, and a book fair.
Living poetry, in the streets, for everyone
The festival was born out of a conviction: poetry belongs to everyone and is experienced in the streets, in public spaces, free of charge. 99% of the events are free to attend. Poets, storytellers, musicians, actors, and street performers share their words and voices with passersby, the curious, and regulars.
The Place du Livre: Poetry Market
Throughout the festival, the Place du Livre brings together publishers and booksellers specializing in poetry. A space unique in France where you can meet publishers, buy poetry collections, and have your books signed by the invited poets.
A Dedicated Web Radio Station
The festival has its own web radio station, accessible online throughout the event—so you can follow readings and performances live or on demand.
