Description
Take a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Fishing Port’s Operations
Located in the heart of the Port of Sète, the fish market is an iconic place where fishermen unload their catch and industry professionals make their purchases. Inside the amphitheater, the day’s catch is sold at a “downward” auction; these auctions are no longer conducted by voice or a show of hands, as in the past, but using a display screen for the seller and a remote control for each buyer present in the amphitheater. Professionals can also access remote auctions via a dedicated online platform.
From the unloading of the fish to shipping, witness every step of the process—and in particular, the action in the auction hall where the so-called “Dutch-style” auctions take place.
