Description
The Association for a Shared Culture (APCP) invites you to the Piano Tiroir for a lecture led by Ramón González, a Spanish teacher and Erasmus program coordinator for the Montpellier School District.
An Intimate Story Within the Larger Historical Context
Under Franco’s dictatorship, thousands of Spanish families were forced to flee their country, driven by repression, fear, and the desire to live freely. Through the story of one family in particular, Ramón González immerses you in the heart of this story—at once personal and universal— that of women and men who left everything behind to preserve their dignity and freedom.
A perspective that bridges history and memory
A Spanish professor with a career rooted in European cultural exchanges, Ramón González connects the fate of this family to the broader history of 20th-century Spain: the Civil War, the Franco dictatorship, exile, and reconstruction. A lecture enriched by documents, personal accounts, and a deep understanding of the historical and human context.
