The Charles de Gaulle Park is the “green lungs” of the Balaruc peninsula, offering an abundance of pleasing plants, shrubs and trees. The park hosts a number of different sporting events, cultural celebrations and festivals during the summertime. In addition to its main role as an ornamental garden, this public space is home to a wide variety of activities, including a traditional twice-weekly market and community, sporting, cultural and tourism events. A popular pedestrian walking route, it also connects the tip of the peninsula to the city centre.
