Fourteen municipalities in the Hérault department have joined forces for a large-scale public commission to create an art trail spanning the entire region. Supported by the Occitanie Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, the BAM project—designed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Sète Agglomération Méditerranée— features works in public spaces along four routes organized within the Thau Archipelago.
This route, which passes through Frontignan-la-Peyrade, Frontignan, Vic-la-Gardiole, and Mireval, celebrates the ecological richness of the wetlands. Along the Ingril and Vic ponds, the landscapes are unique—we walk through these flooded lands, amazed by the distinctive natural surroundings. Each artwork engages with its immediate surroundings—the canal, the salt marshes, the vineyards, the garrigue—to reveal a region that is all too often passed through without a second glance.
