The museum is honored to present this inaugural lecture by Réjane Roure, professor at the Université Paul Valéry and director of the ASM laboratory (UMR 5140), as part of the 2026 lecture series on the archaeology of women.Iron Age women are known from sculptures, literary sources and funerary data. The information we do have, although limited in number, indicates that they may have occupied an important place in society, since some of them were members of the local elite, as demonstrated by certain tombs and representations.
