Philippe Cognée?s work has never before been considered in its entirety through the prism of his relationship with time, yet this essential theme permeates the hundred or so works presented, spanning the period from the 1980s to the present day.His encaustic painting, which distorts and alters images derived from photography and video, lends his work a palpable temporality, reflecting the subtle effects of time.
