To mark the 80th anniversary of his death, the Paul Valéry Museum is revisiting the writer?s last years, which were overshadowed by the tragedy of war.To mark the occasion, part of the room dedicated to Paul Valéry will be revisited in a new museography.Right up to his last days, he continued to exercise an authority of thought, which, reinforced by his dignified attitude under the Occupation, established him as one of our country?s tutelary figuresThis event is an opportunity to (re)discover, through the archives and documents in the Paul Valéry Museum collection, the portrait of a sensitive man - the distraught lover, the worried family man and the artist behind the official figure.
