Aresquiers Beach

Located to the north-east of Sète, this seaside resort enjoys an exceptional setting nestled between the sea, lagoons and scrubland, and boasts a variety of beautiful sandy and pebble beaches on either side of the marina, all of which have held Blue Flag status for over 25 years.
Among these, you can choose from Port Ouest, Port Est, Les Plaisanciers, Le Grau, La Bergerie, l’Entrée or the Aresquiers beach.
GOOD TO KNOW: For a more secluded atmosphere and a magical view, head to the Nau cove in Sète. Simply stunning!

It feels like the end of the world. That’s exactly what you’ll find if you choose Aresquiers Beach, which stretches for around 7 kilometres between Frontignan and Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone.
To top it all off, 5 kilometres are closed to road traffic: no cars, no motorbikes, just you in a magnificent face-to-face with the sea. But getting up close to paradise comes at a cost – that of effort! You’ll need to walk through the countryside to enjoy a crystal-clear, almost deserted beach where bathers (and sometimes swimsuits) become a rare sight the further you go.
On the sand, a few pebbles smoothed by the waves, driftwood that’s fun to collect, and, in the hollow of your ear, the song of the cicadas, which nevertheless fails to drown out the sound of the waves…
Allow 20 to 30 minutes’ walk to reach the most secluded spots. Note to cyclists: Aresquiers beach is also accessible via the cycle path linking Vic-la-Gardiole to Frontignan.
In July and August, the town of Frontignan organises a wide range of activities, allowing visitors to enjoy the beach whilst having fun.
For example, on Rive Ouest beach, there is a fitness and wellness area right next to the water sports centre. Gym, yoga and weight training classes are also on offer, alternating with sandball, beach soccer and volleyball tournaments.
