A lovely day out with the family

As a parent, choosing where to go on holiday is crucial! Are you fans of outdoor activities, or do you prefer cultural outings? In the Thau Archipelago, believe me, there’s everything you need!

Enjoy the great outdoors

If, like my children and me, you enjoy walks in the countryside and outdoor activities, there are plenty of options to choose from. To name but a few: a donkey ride in Gigean (with good walking shoes), a journey back to prehistoric times at the Dinosaur Museum and Park in Mèze, or a visit to the Bouzigues farm and zoo.

In the summer, do join in the walks and activities organised by the CPIE du Bassin de Thau – the whole family will love it! On the programme: exploring the area’s most characteristic spots and encountering fascinating species and landscapes. These walks are also a chance to discover fascinating local trades and sample regional specialities. Educational and fun – the best of both worlds!

Broaden your horizons

Are you more into culture and heritage? Then head to the Thau Lagoon Museum in Bouzigues, the Villa-Loupian Gallo-Roman Museum, or the Ancient Mediterranean Garden in Balaruc-les-Bains! These museums also offer fun workshops where you can spend quality time with your children and take your creations home with you.

Rediscover your inner child!

What could be more fun than a life-size treasure hunt with the family? Just like us, explore Valmagne Abbey and enjoy a unique experience where you’ll be immersed in a fantastical story, searching for treasure in the abbey’s secret corners… We rounded off our day with a meal at the abbey inn, sampling wines from the vineyard and produce from the kitchen garden – we loved it!
