Camel ride in the Thau Archipelago

Whether accompanied by your child or riding alone, gazing out over the sea, the Aresquiers woods, the salt marshes, the ponds and the renowned Muscat vineyards, you’ll find yourself enjoying a unique experience on the back of a camel in the company of Cécile.

For 1 hour (ride) or up to 2½ hours (course), you’ll explore the Gardiole massif and be swept away by Cécile’s passion for camels and her love for the region she’s been exploring since 2010, when she founded the Dromasud association with Coralie.

Set amidst pine forests and garrigue, this ride, entitled “Gardiole Autrement”, will allow you to fully appreciate this protected forest massif, which we’ll tell you a little more about below.

The Gardiole massif

Nestled between Montpellier and Sète, the Gardiole massif is designated as a Natural Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF), much to the delight of nature lovers, who can spot warblers, green lizards and more…

Above all, it is a paradise for hikers, who can enjoy themselves to their heart’s content on the trails that wind their way through canyons, hills and lush vegetation. Among the suggested routes, one will take you to explore the ruins of Saint-Félix de Montceau Abbey and the breathtaking view of the Thau lagoon it offers… A panorama similar to the one you’ll see throughout your camel ride.

An unforgettable memory

When you return from your ride, do take a few moments to spend some time with your camel and reward it with a few strokes. You can then have a chat with Cécile and ask her any questions you may have, or pop into the farm shop to buy some camel’s milk soaps.
