Around Saint-Félix-de-Montceau Abbey In Gigean

The Balconies of Thau Departing from Frontignan

A walk through a fragrant pine forest will take you to the first viewpoint overlooking Frontignan and its vineyards. Climb a little further and you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Thau lagoon, Mont Saint-Clair and the lido. Remember to wear walking shoes, as this path is stony!

Difficulty: easy. Duration: 2½ hours, distance: 7.5 km.

The Aresquiers Walk Departing from Vic-la-Gardiole

Ideal for families as it is completely flat, this 9 km loop takes you first to the shores of Ingril Pond, amidst the salt marsh vegetation. Don’t forget your binoculars for birdwatching! Your walk will then continue through the Bois des Aresquiers. Its pine forest, comprising Aleppo pines, maritime pines, holm oaks and kermes oaks, is home to rare plant species and a variety of wildlife. This is a fragile natural site, so please treat it with respect!

Level: easy. Duration: 3 hours, distance: 9 km.

Hike through the Moure Hills In Montbazin

From Montbazin, head towards the foothills of the Aumelas plateau, the hill of La Moure and its 360° panoramic viewpoint, offering stunning views of Sète and the Thau lagoon. Along the way, you’ll discover charming capitelles, those dry-stone huts that once provided shelter for shepherds.

Bonus: an audio guide that will immerse you in the memories of Fernande, a shepherdess in the scrublands of Montbazin (available on the Izi Travel app).

Difficulty: moderate. Duration: 4 hours, distance: 12.5 km.
